This comic concept brought to you by longtime friend of the comic and now Patron of the comic, James Pogatshnik! Go listen to Norse Code.

James brought to my attention the long and storied history of Vikings choosing to go west. Specifically, the Pacific Northwest. It’s like they want to see the ocean but also still have miserable winter weather.

Adrian Peterson’s post-disgrace tour of multiple teams to wind down his career briefly included Seattle at the very end.

Percy Harvin is probably best known for having migraines. While he was a Viking far longer than he was a Seahawk, he ran back a kick in the Super Bowl that year and now he’s permanently a Seahawks to me. He was part of a trio of former Vikings on that 2013 Seahawks team, the others being Sidney Rice and Tavaris Jackson.

I had no idea John Randle played in Seattle, he’s always been a pure Viking to me. But he was there for a few years, and even went to the Pro Bowl as a Seahawk.

Same with Warren Moon. Moon actually played for a number of teams, but to me he’s always been an Oiler.

Then we have notorious draft bust Laquon Treadwell. Fun fact about Treadwell: he’s clearly going for the NFL team played for record. Since the Vikigns cut him, Treadwell has gone – Falcons – Jaguars – Patriots – Cardinals – Seahawks – Ravens – Colts. It is important to know he was a practice squad guy for all these teams. I dunno what it is, but the poor guy just ain’t got it.

There is also one half of the Williams Wall, the briefly very cool defensive line from the 2000’s. Kevin Williams toiled in Seattle for their Super Bowl loss in 2014 before disappearing.

Funnily enough, there is also a guy who started in Seattle, became a Viking, then ran back home. Shaquill Griffin left Seattle and took a tour of the NFL, going to the Jaguars, Texans, Panthers, and then Vikings before re-signing with Seattle in June of this year. You may know Shaquill as the brother of the guy with no hand, Shaquem Griffin.

Lastly, we have the two kickers. Ryan Longwell (what a great name for a kicker) played for the Packers for a while, then played for the Vikings for half a decade, then went to Seattle to replace an injured Hauschka and retired. Blair Walsh? He might have never actually been a Viking. He was a Seahawks sleeper agent who put on the Purple for several years before the deep spy operation was activated during the 2015 season playoffs, when Walsh would shank an easy game-winning field goal against Seattle in the waning seconds.
