This is as close as you are getting to a world cup comic. Sorry folks, I tried to watch some of the games, but soccer remains not for me. Maybe if Cabo Verde had been awarded the cup as they should have been. The People’s champion.
That final felt like the Patriots/Rams Super Bowl from 2019. Spain had control the whole time but couldn’t score, and Argentina felt like they barely even tried to score. A slog. I don’t follow the sport well enough to know why everyone seemed to hate Argentina but I guess that everyone is happy now.
I did enjoy that one Spanish player getting beaned right in the face trying to block Messi. We can all appreciate a Scott Sterling.

Roughing the audience, perhaps.
Scott Sterling, now that is a true sports hero! His heroics are also the most time I have ever spent watching soccer.
Scott Sterling is a 2 sport athlete. Never forget him playing Volleyball as well! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oY2nVQNlUB8
Nothing about Skattebo’s rehab from a horrific broken ankle including a failed backflip?
Scott Sterling deserves to hoist a World Cup with his incredible goaltending abilities!
I was expecting this to be about that stunt he did recently.
You should have watched the England vs France third place match. The announcers even mentioned the France comeback like it was 28-3.
Who one Earth would want to watch a match for third place? What a waste of time.
As Vince Lombardi said about the Playoff Bowl: “A Shit Bowl, a losers’ bowl for losers.” Then a couple years later: “A hinky-dink football game, held in a hinky-dink town, with hinky-dink players.”
A Spain v England matchup would have been far more entertaining imo.
Argentina, for better or worse, has a Chiefs rep atm – a lot of calls fell their way this tournament and even in 2020. Their fans can also be condescending. A lot of soccer fans like Messi, but would have been pissed had Argentina won via kicks at the end, especially after the master class game the Spanish played.
