A Glimpse Into Hell
I bought the Oblivion remaster. I have never actually played an Elder Scrolls game before. I’ve never really been super into standard D&D RPG type fantasy worlds so I just never bothered. Yes, that means I somehow never picked up one of the 1248 versions of Skyrim that have been released. I would appreciate any tips for a newcomer to the series.
Something stuck me as odd during the Draft coverage, both in the lead-up and the draft itself. Few were discussing the Jets as a big potential landing spot for Shedeur, or any of the other QBs. I’m not sure why. Maybe they knew something I did not, as the Jets didn’t pick any of the available options. But that struck me as odd. Why weren’t the Jets a talked about QB needy team? The Titans? Yes. The Browns? The Browns were in a cursed situation and just made it weirder. The Giants? Obviously a need. QBs got mocked to all of them and they all picked one. The Browns even picked two! Then we had the secondary teams, the ones who weren’t in immediate QB crisis mode, but clearly still in questionable QB territory. The Raiders, who have Geno Smith and some scraps. The Saints, who lost Derek Carr to some freak injury and Taysom Hill is whatever the fuck Taysom Hill is. The Rams, who need someone to replace Stafford pretty soon. The Steelers, who are probably signing Aaron Rodgers, but that’s not a long-term solution. I would have put the Jets in this category. The Jets are 100% in a questionable QB situation and did nothing to address it. Did I miss something?
To recap, the Jets current slate of ball throwers is: Justin Fields, Tyrod Taylor, and something named Adrian Martinez. Thats…that’s pretty weak, right? Justin Fields’ time as a QB could most generously summed up as “messy”. Tyrod is a nice guy but a career backup Journeyman. The other guy can probably throw a football, I suppose. This is not a good QB room. The Jets decided this is who they are rolling with? The Giants signed both Russ (the guy Fields backed up last year) and Jameis (A guy who has at least had a general higher level of success than Tyrod), retained Tommy Porkchops (my Mom’s nickname for DeVito), and STILL went out and drafted a QB. I feel like the Jets should have grabbed one of the random guys that slipped into the later rounds, just for funsies. Granted, the Jets new staff is not in the same pressure cooker as the Giants staff currently is, but still. I guess they decided to see what next year brings to the market.
