The Loss Of Skattebo
It’s rare that a player is so fun that the entire league seems to embrace him but that is what it felt like happened in Cam Skattebo’s short tenure as the Giants runningback this year. Previously only known to Arizona State fans, and then to a wider college audience after he almost singlehandedly beat Texas. Skattebo’s neanderthal idiot nature caught our attention in training camp with the videos of him yelling like a lunatic all the time, and then he brought that energy to the field and ran angrier than everyone on every play. Once Dart got the start the vibes were off the charts.
And just like that it was over. One bad tackle and his ankle is hanging on by threads of tissue and the season is over. His career might never recover. I think we all knew Skattebo wouldn’t have a long career with the way he played, but this wasn’t even his fault in any way. No fun league indeed.
Surprised this wasn’t a Halloween comic, considering the day lined up perfectly with your schedule. To be far, having a player who was on the road to becoming an icon go down like that with his future career up in the air is probably the scariest thing you could’ve drawn.
I will say, considering how not great the Giants season is, the potential for this team to become really good is there. It just requires Mara to actually hire semi-competent people for once, which considering the track record for Giants coaches post-Coughlin…not great (Even though Schoen is likely gone after this season, he could probably work with a better coach. Wasn’t there Eagles fans who wanted Howie gone when Dougie P got fired?)
As an aside, amazing comic. I got a big ass grin on my face as soon as I saw it.
The levels of memery. This is insanely good, I howled laughing and then had to explain it to my wife (who doesn’t know Loss, but was just as excited for Skattebo as the rest of the NFL). Well done.

I hate that this happened. Finally the Giants have a player that I dont actually hate because he brings insane Bro energy to the game which is damn well needs, and he lasts only a few games before the fates take him.
No fun league = not for long
Yeah, he was fun to watch, you hate to see a young talent like that get hurt.
On the other hand, this is making Niners-Giants MUCH more watchable for me.
