Scott Norwood Was Right
So, weird situation incoming. I went through my list of lateral ideas earlier this month, and one of them was “Scott Norwood”. Yeah, that deserves a comic. This was the snarky comic I thought up. I went ahead and spent multiple hours on this one, prepared to write about the tragedy of the ’90 Bills, and then went to save out this comic’s final file. Then, when I did, I got bamboozled by my computer asking me “you already have a file named ScottNorwoodWasRight.clip, would you like to replace it?”
I searched the site, and sure enough, I have not yet done a Scott Norwood comic. So I saved this out as a different name, and went back to open the other file. I found an unfinished Lateral about the same topic, in very early sketch phase, labeled #1079. It was indeed a Scott Norwood joke. It must have been one of my unfortunate dustbin jokes that I had to abandon because other, pressing news came up or I knew I wouldn’t have time to finish it and I set it aside for later and forgot about. But what was most horrifying to me was that it was definitely better than this one. More creative setup, better-executed punchline, I am very mad at myself for abandoning and forgetting it.
So I’m going to finish that first Scott Norwood joke and save the discussion post for that one, which should go up Wednesday. I will leave this one here, because it’s done, and I still like it, even though it is now no longer my favored child and is not getting anything important in my will.
Actually, now I’m wondering if I should just do 4 straight Bills jokes to honor the 90’s Bills. Yes or no: set fire to my Bills fan readers this week?

A JP Losman comic! A Gregg Williams comic! A Marshawn Lynch stole $20 comic! In all seriousness, you do a great job with these and it makes it so much better for me when my team is the punch line; gives a connection to that comic.
