Peyton breaks the TD record
Part of me was really, really hoping that Peyton wouldn’t throw a single TD against the 49ers just to stick it to the NBC crew who worked so hard building all that hype. Felt like the whole game just stopped for 10 minutes to celebrate the record.
Anyway, congrats, Peyton. You are the best quarterback I have ever watched, and for my money, the best of all time. It’s a joy to watch you wiggle your feet and throw wobbly ducks that manage to always get caught. I hate your commercials, but you still manage to be a funny guy. I can’t see anyone breaking this record, especially since I don’t see you stopping this season or next, and it’s only week 7. It’s been an honor to watch your career, and I still remember when I got your Nerf football when you were a rookie. I wasn’t very good at throwing it.
Book it, Aaron Rodgers will break this record in eight years.
Congrats to Peyton, he earned it and he deserved it, but I really do hate how we stop the entire game for these things now. Before this it was Brees breaking Unitas’ record, now it’s Peyton breaking Favre’s. Save it for the postgame.
Well, Peyton had 306 TDs through his first 10 years (the same amount of years Rodgers has PLAYED) and Rodgers only has 206 TDs. Granted he sat for 2 years before he threw a TD, and then an extra before he started, but still. I’d bet more on Luck to break it in the future than Rodgers or any other QB playing know.
I think Luck has a better shot, simply because Luck has the weapons and Rodgers has much less time. Luck is starting to become a veritable touchdown machine, and if he has 40+ touchdown seasons often, the record could be his.
Peyton had only a couple seasons where he threw more than 40 touchdowns. Luck looks like he could be throwing for 40+ for a couple of years at least. It’s definitely possible.
The biggest reasons why I think the record will eventually fall are:
1. Rule changes/enforcement. 25 TDs used to be a milestone; now it’s barely average because teams are throwing 40 times a game, including from the 2-yard line.
2. Longevity. 20 years ago, Peyton’s neck surgery would not have even been possible. We joke about RGIII’s injuries, but he wouldn’t have even made it this far back in the day (see Greg Cook).
3. Domes. Peyton spent most of his career indoors, and domed stadiums are far more common today.
4. Possible schedule expansion. (I hope this doesn’t happen, but when has the league ever turned down a chance at more money?)
if you saw the rest of that game you’d know the answer
If I saw Cheeseheads for the Packers, Cheddarheads for the Claymores and a foam-rubber cheese grater at Wembley last month, it cannot be beyond the wit of man to make a Manninghead.
PFM? Nah, FPM.
Tramaine Brock will get to go down in league history, and will always be mentioned in Peyton Manning’s career.
is that tim tebow? loloololol
I actually really enjoy the old Peyton Manning commercials.

Love the Picture Of A Newspaper On A Tablet. Very 2014.
Is that an iPad with a picture of a newspaper on it?
It is the modern age!
Am I the only one who noticed that Kaepernick is just as black as Gore? lmao.
Yeah, why is Kap dark as gore xD? He got it right when they joked about him and the alleged sexual assault in Miami deal.
I assumed that was because the lights are out so eveything is dark.
“and throw wobbly ducks that manage to always get caught”
You make him sound like Nick Foles
Peyton is and always will be the best Manning. Unless they’re head to head in a Super Bowl and considering that Peyton has Welker… Then my money’s on Eli. As much as it stings to say that.
Yeah, F*ck You Comcast!
Who’s the white guy with Obama? I assume that’s Obama anyway…
