The 2004 NFL draft might have been the best draft for QBs the league has seen. Out of 17 Quarterbacks taken, we ended up with 4 solid starters, and about 3 decent backups. That might seem low, but remember most players drafted after the first two rounds are rare hits, even more so with QBs. 4 QBs got taken in round one, with just one being a bust. The top three, seen here, have combined for 4 superbowl wins, 5 appearances, and about 7 championship appearances. With Matt Schaub taken in the 3rd round, the 2004 draft produced 4 franchise QBs, a rare feat indeed.
we might see some more next week for part 2.
Eli didn’t win those super bowls. If your defense can hold the pats to 14 and 17 points, practically ANY team can beat them.
The defense was HORRENDOUS all the way to the playoffs. Eli Manning carried the team on his back last season. He could have thrown 5 interceptions and 0 touchdowns in the Super Bowl and I’d still give him the most credit for the championship season. They wouldn’t have even been close if it wasn’t for him.
And Ben’s defense held two NFC West teams to 10 and 23.
Gabe, Big Ben didn’t win those rings either. Even leaving aside the refereeing controversy in XL he had an awful game (9/21, 123 yards, 0TD/2INT). He was solid in XLIII, but James Harrison’s pick-six just before the half was what won them the game.
Yea, but the comparisons are always Eli vs Philip.
I’m aware of how awful Ben played in the first SB that deserved 99% credit to the D, and the second he had more impact but the D did a lot there as well.
Did anyone notice that Ben’s finger was prettyour much broken?
