I recently found out former NFL coach Gary Kubiak has 3 sons. They all have short, single-syllable K names. Let’s just let that stew for a bit.

Do I think Gary Kubiak named his kids in such a way as to make a subtle reference to the Klan? Probably not. He and his wife were likely one of those couples that decides on a weird naming convention for all their children. You’ve probably met someone with a similar concept in your life at one point. They almost always include alliteration and every kid having a name that starts with the same letter. So I do not believe that Gary Kubiak named his children K names with the intention of white supremacy. However…I do believe he didn’t think his little naming convention through very well.

Also, Klein? Klein? As a first name? Gary, get some taste. Kevin was right there. Kyle! Ken! I guess it could be worse, they could be one of those couples who decide to name their children after pop culture characters or worse, the extremely pick-me practice of taking a normal ass name like Lauren and spelling it Lawrynn so that she’s “unique”.

Klint Alexander Kubiak (If his middle name was a K that would be quite a red flag) is becoming a known name around the league right now. He got the Saints off to a hot start last year before injuries put a damper on the offense. He’s now on the Seahawks. He’s spent time on many teams as a QB coach and passing game coordinator. He’s a future “hot name” for head coaching discussions, provided he doesn’t fall apart.

Klay Kubiak is currently the offensive coordinator for the 49ers, meaning he stands around and tries to stay out of Kyle Shanahan’s way. He’s been a 49er his entire NFL career, so good on climbing that ladder, Klay. Since everybody knows the 49ers offense is Shanahan’s baby I do not anticipate Klay becoming a hot name unless he goes elseware first.

There is also Klein. He does not have a Wikipedia page. He is a scout for the Cowboys. That’s all you need to know about the other Kubiak. I doubt we will ever hear about him.
