MADDEN CURSED!
The first round of the 2026 draft has come and gone. I’d say it was mostly a chaotic ” Eat Your Vegetables ” draft. A lot of minor trading around and plenty of offensive lineman.
The Cardinals started off the chaos though by looking at the Giants and Raiders picking a highly touted RB in the top 10 and going nowhere with them because they can’t block or throw the ball, and going “I want that for me”. Stupid pick, Arizona.
Was not expecting Arvell Reese to fall to the Giants at 5, happy with that. Wish we had taken Downs at 10, but one of the top tackle prospects is a nice alternative. Of course, the last time Joe Schoen took a pass rusher and a tackle in the top 10 of the same draft it did not work out so well, so…I guess I can’t wait to see how we ruin them.
The Jets looked like they had a great draft but it won’t matter because Jest.
The Rams had the blunder of the night, taking Ty Simpson at 13. A guy many people had as a fringe first-rounder at best, and only because he’s a QB. Stafford is almost gone and the Rams need a replacement in the wings, but at pick #13? 13? Ty Simpson? Did Dan Orlovsky take control of the pick from Les Snead?
Here are the Draft Cards. As always, the remaining guys will be added as the draft moves on over the next two days.

I like what you did with Simpson, but why not give the very next guy a claw hand, too?
Jets: 3 first round picks will help your day 1 draft grade.
Bills back peddled out of the first round and I think that may turn out to be a genius move.
The Arizona pick makes sense in the “take the ‘best’ player on the board”-type of way. Love was going to get picked by someone, and do you take him for yourself or let him fall to a team like the Seahawks who actually need an RB?
It’s the Cards though, and they have much bigger holes to fill than an RB especially when it’s players that are needed to help make the RB actually successful like a good QB or a stout OL. Overall, I’m okay with the Cards languishing. The NFC West is stacked enough as it is.
Go Hawks!
