Crisis averted?

At the start of May the NFL and the Referee Association ratified a new collective bargaining agreement through 2032. This came as kind of an anti-climax after weeks and months of slow buildup towards what felt like another strike.

I was personally hoping for another lockout because the first one was very funny and gave us tremendous content such as The Fail Mary and The Loudest Manure Chant. I won’t lie, I’ve never been prouder of Ravens fans in my life.

Stories were accumulating that the NFL seemed to be prepping for another one. They were hiring replacements and trying to prep them. The NFL wanted to strong-arm the union as they do, but couldn’t afford to get so publicly raked over the coals like last time. The replacement refs were so bad they resulted in one of the most public and unequivocal wins a sports union has had. It was hilarious.

But it looks like the foreseeable future is just going to be business as usual. Can’t wait for more regular ass blunders to make us mad every week, instead of some really funny turbo blunders.
