I watched it. I found it significantly more entertaining than watching some NFL teams real games. And any game featuring the conversational duds of Old Man Michael/Kirk Herbstreit (Yes, Al used to be great. Emphasis on “used to be”, which does nothing for me).
Agreed, it was fun to watch. It was also a game we’ve all seen before in that the team playing better football lost due to silly shit, the difference being that all the silly shit was designed into the contest.
In High School they often used teachers that could have long since retired at a full pension to sub, probably as a way of nudging them to retire already. With how awful those Thursday Night Amazon games have been, I wonder if the football gods have the same idea for Al (who hadn’t been shy about shitting on the product for what its worth).
Agreed. Turning into flag football with minigames for other position groups mixed in was a fun twist on the product. It’s far better than what the product had turned into over the last several years.
Nothing sold me on how insanely athletic NFL linemen are like seeing them lift a heavy wall, duck under it, and then dive-and-roll under a low platform.
My first exposure to the Pro Bowl, back when I was very young, was a comic in the back of Sports Illustrated for Kids where the AFC and NFC each recruited dinosaurs to play for them. Imagine my disappointment when I actually watched the Pro Bowl on television…
Didn’t watch it either, but I heard the kickers played tic-tac-toe by kicking at a grid and now I think the NFL should find a way to work that into the season.
Honestly, I loved the pro bowl this year. The flag football was a bit dull, but the minigames were a ton of fun. And, hey, the players looked like they were having fun.
Certainly an upgrade over the old pro bowl where everyone was playing at one-quarter speed and barely trying to tackle.
I have to mention that professional bowling is no joke. Back in the days before all sports were constantly televised, my mom was a professional bowler; she’s on her second shoulder surgery and has had both knees replaced. The reason she’s going through all of it? So she can go whoop ass on the senior league. Go Mom!
That’s okay, no one else watched it either.
Fuck the pro bowl except for the dodgeball

No kidding, Al in his prime was probably the best play by play commentator in the business. He just needs to retire and stop chasing the high.

The only tolerable part is him shitting on the product. If he didn’t have such a large role in the game, I’d welcome IDGAF Al Michaels.
You shoulda, it was (surprisingly) super fun this year. You should at least catch the highlights.

Yeah, no kidding. Most of the minigames was me looking at what they were doing and saying nope, no way could I ever manage crap like this.
HOF prediction?

Pro Bowl makes Preseason look entertaining.
I miss the days when the Superbowl was in January. If NFL has their way, they’ll extend it to the end of February.
You’re giving them ideas, soon the Superb Owl will be a best of 3 series with a bye week between each game.

How do you know if someone didn’t watch the pro bowl? They’ll tell you.

Read the comments to enjoy some more dunking, end up thinking “I should watch the pro bowl next year”
