Last week, for a few hours, those of us on twitter witnessed an entire breakdown of sporting news society. Why? Because Tom Brady fell over holding his knee and went into the locker room. For a couple hours it was like society broke down. Patriots fans were tweeting in a panic, freaking out over a tweet about a helicopter being at the site. Some troll account tweeted that Brady tore his ACL and MCL, and it spread like wildfire despite being obviously fake. Sportswriters frantically tweeted meaningless updates, and the Vegas odds for the Patriots winning the SB literally plummeted. Then, a short time late, everything was back to normal. Brady was fine. The world shut down because one dude bumped his knee.

It was kind of amazing. Sometimes I forget just how big the NFL truly is. One man sort of getting a boo boo almost crashed the infrastructure.
